Enji-maawinjidiyaang Indigenous Friendship Centre “Where we gather” had a year of growth and planted roots in the Community of Elliot Lake.

Programming

Located in Serpent River First Nation within the Trading Post. A mobile unit is also used that visits communities in the Robinson Huron Treaty area with a focus on the communities of Mamaweswen the North Shore Tribal Council.

Aside from the general visits, programming includes:

  • Anishinaabemowin language (2)
  • Painting and other holiday or date specific initiatives
  • Walk and Talk

  • Pictures with Santa
  • Gift Wrapping

Areas of Need as identified by our members and year operation:

  • Housing (Transitional and support).
  • Childcare and youth programming.
  • Programs with Indigenous Culture and Knowledge
